Singer Ailee Opens Up About Painful Side Effects After Egg Retrieval

Singer Ailee has shared her struggles with side effects following an egg retrieval procedure.

On the 29th, a video titled "Unbearable Side Effects After Egg Retrieval... It's Painful" was posted on the 'Ailee's Marriage Diary' channel.

The video detailed the ups and downs of the couple's IVF journey. Ailee and her husband, Choi Si-hoon, revealed that they began IVF due to Ailee's thin uterine lining.

Previously, the couple shared the results of the egg retrieval on their channel. Choi Si-hoon announced, "We received positive news from the hospital," and the doctor explained, "15 eggs were retrieved and all were fertilized. 12 embryos were successfully implanted, and 7 of the 5-day embryos are of the highest grade."

Five days after the 'egg retrieval,' Ailee expressed her discomfort while taking a walk. She said, "The pain from the procedure site has subsided, but the gas is really difficult to deal with."

Ailee added, "My stomach feels bloated and painful," and mentioned that she went for a night walk hoping it would help relieve the gas.

Choi Si-hoon noted, "The medication taken after the procedure has some side effects, including constipation," addressing the discomfort. Ailee also shared, "I feel like I can't take a full breath, like my breathing is short," showing her struggle.

Later, the couple visited the hospital for a 'pre-implantation uterine lining procedure.' Choi Si-hoon explained, "After blood is drawn and centrifuged, there's about an hour wait. The procedure itself takes about 10 minutes and is done without anesthesia."

After the procedure, Choi Si-hoon asked Ailee, "How do you feel about this final hurdle?" Ailee responded, "I'm not at ease. I've had the swelling procedure and increased medication, and today I got another swelling injection, so hopefully, it will go well."

Meanwhile, Ailee married Choi Si-hoon last year. The couple is currently undergoing IVF to have children.
