Seo In-young Opens Up About Past Controversies and Mental Health Struggles
On the 26th, Seo In-young launched her YouTube channel 'Reformed Seo In-young' and uploaded her first video titled 'Reading Hate Comments After 10 Years: Truth, Lies, and Updates'.
In the video, Seo In-young addressed the controversies from the past, including the verbal abuse incident during the overseas filming of the variety show 'With You 2'. She admitted to verbally abusing her manager but denied the power harassment allegations, stating, "It's not true." Seo expressed her hope that people would not hurt others with false information.
Seo In-young shared, "What upset me was the emotional strain with Crown J. There were things I was disappointed about." She added, "The video only showed me swearing, not the part where I expressed my grievances to Crown J. It all accumulated."
Seo revealed that the incident left her with depression and panic disorder, marking it as the most painful experience of her life. She confessed, "I was so hurt that I went to the hospital. I didn't know I would fall apart like that. It was the peak of my depression. I didn't even want to live."
Regarding her parents' reaction, she said, "They were very distressed and embarrassed. My father blamed me. I acknowledged my mistakes but wanted to clarify the power harassment issue. My father yelled, 'So you didn't swear?' That was the end for me. I reflected on my own."
Seo became emotional when discussing her parents. She said, "I have a stepmother who is a wonderful person and has been with me since I was young. My father and stepmother were embarrassed. My father is a church elder, and they felt ashamed to go to church because of me. They didn't want to show their faces." Despite this, she expressed her apologies.
When asked if she apologized to the manager who heard the verbal abuse, Seo replied, "Of course, I apologized. He is my closest and longest-serving manager. He even wanted to give an interview." The manager had previously stated in an entertainment news program interview that the incident happened because he didn't manage things well.
When asked if she frequently uses profanity, Seo candidly admitted, "Yes," showcasing her characteristic honesty and drawing laughter.
