Controversy Arises as 'I Am SOLO' Star Young-sik Criticizes Fellow Contestant Soon-ja

On the latest episode of ENA and SBS Plus's 'I Am SOLO, Love Continues' aired on the 26th, Young-sik from the 20th season candidly shared his first impression of Soon-ja from the 24th season during a date.

Young-sik, who was chosen by four female contestants, engaged in a one-on-one conversation with Soon-ja. With anticipation, Soon-ja asked, “What was your first impression of me?”

Young-sik's response was unexpected. He admitted, “I didn't watch the entire 24th season, but I thought Soon-ja was a stubborn person because she seemed to strictly adhere to a vegetarian diet.” He continued, “I thought she was someone who just wanted to stand out,” expressing his honest opinion directly.

MC Yoon Bo-mi, observing the exchange, remarked, "That seems to go beyond honesty," while Defconn pointed out, “Soon-ja might get hurt by Young-sik's rude attitude.”

In response to the unexpected criticism, Soon-ja couldn't hide her disappointment, saying, “I guess my image wasn't good.” In a heartfelt interview, she confessed, “It really hurts my pride. There must be someone who will cherish me, but this makes me lose motivation. It's disheartening.”

Young-sik also shared in an interview with the production team, “Just because I appeared on 'I Am SOLO' doesn't mean I want to leverage that for influencer activities or YouTube. It felt like there was a negative intention.” He added, “Although the negative thoughts have disappeared, there was no catalyst to rebuild the relationship.”
