MBC's 'Radio Star' Faces Dilemma Over Editing Jo Gap-kyung's Episode Amid Son's Divorce Scandal

MBC's 'Radio Star' is currently assessing whether to edit out Jo Gap-kyung's appearance following the ongoing divorce controversy surrounding her son, Hong. Jo Gap-kyung appeared in the preview for the episode aired on the 25th, drawing significant attention.

On the morning of the 26th, 'Radio Star' officially stated to Ten Asia that they are "currently assessing the situation" regarding Jo Gap-kyung's appearance. The preview, aired at the end of the episode on the 25th, featured Jo Gap-kyung alongside Chae Yeon, Go Woo-ri, and Lee Chae-young, capturing public interest. Jo Gap-kyung's appearance coincides with the recent controversy involving her son, Hong, amplifying public scrutiny.

Hong is embroiled in allegations of infidelity and unpaid child support amidst his divorce proceedings. His ex-wife, identified as A, claimed on the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Institute' that Hong was unfaithful during her pregnancy, escalating the controversy. A also alleged that child support has not been properly paid and that communication with her former in-laws, Hong Seo-beom and Jo Gap-kyung, has been inadequate.

In response, Hong Seo-beom stated in a call with 'Garo Sero Institute' that "the lawsuit is not yet concluded, and the outcome is uncertain." Regarding his granddaughter, he remarked, "We should act after the divorce proceedings are finalized. It's not a situation where I can demand to see the child just because I want to."

Concerning financial matters, Hong Seo-beom claimed, "After the first trial, our son handed over 20 million won. Since he had no money, I lent him 20 million won, advising him to resolve the issue with this amount and add another 10 million won of his own to make it 30 million won." However, he noted that child support payments are on hold pending the finalization of the lawsuit, following legal advice.
