Yoo Jae-suk was left to foot the bill after being betrayed by his friends.

On the October 21st episode of MBC's variety show 'Hangout with Yoo', Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Heo Kyung-hwan, Joo Woo-jae, and Yang Sang-guk participated in the 'Era of Country Bumpkins - War of Money 2 in Gimhae' segment. The five men visited Yang Sang-guk's hometown in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, engaging in a 'War of Money' filled with suspicion and betrayal, delivering big laughs once again.

The episode recorded a 4.8% viewership rating in the Seoul metropolitan area, ranking first in its time slot. The key indicator of channel competitiveness, the 2054 viewership rating, was 2.9%, continuing its streak as the top Saturday variety show. The highlight of the episode was when Yoo Jae-suk and Haha finally got to eat rice and meat together after being blocked by the Gyeongsang-do style 'meat first, rice later' rule, with the highest minute rating reaching 6.6%, according to Nielsen Korea.

Was 'Prince of Jinyeong' Yang Sang-guk Really as Popular as Yoo Jae-suk in Gimhae?

Yang Sang-guk, who wasn't well-received in Seoul, was celebrated in his hometown of Gimhae, ordering generously and being cheered on. Comments comparing him to 'Prince Charles (now King)' were mentioned, adding to the humor. Yang Sang-guk boasted, "I have the face of a British noble." Reflecting on the positive response from the previous broadcast, he joked, "My life changed after appearing on 'Hangout with Yoo'. People see me as being on the same level as Yoo Jae-suk."

Yang Sang-guk's first local stop in Gimhae was the Tomb of King Suro. On the way, Joo Woo-jae suggested stopping by an espresso bar, to which Yang Sang-guk replied, "If you're dead and people bring coffee to your grave, is it good or bad?" This led to a misunderstanding about his pronunciation, leaving Yang Sang-guk flustered. Yoo Jae-suk, as a senior in broadcasting, advised, "Sang-guk, you're doing well, but be careful not to slip up."

At the next stop, an amusement park, Yang Sang-guk continued to treat the group by paying for entrance fees, snacks, and ride tickets. The members, knowing Yang Sang-guk was paying, boldly requested churros and coffee. Feeling taken advantage of even in Gimhae, Yang Sang-guk regretted his generosity, saying, "Should I not have offered?"

Heading to his real hometown of Jinyeong-eup, 'Prince of Jinyeong' Yang Sang-guk greeted the residents with "Guk is here," walking confidently. Joo Woo-jae was amazed to see Yang Sang-guk, a local celebrity, being recognized more than Yoo Jae-suk, saying, "In this town, 'Sang-guk, Sang-guk' comes before 'Yoo Jae-suk'." The members laughed at the welcome banners for Yang Sang-guk displayed throughout Jinyeong.

Who Had the Last Laugh Over the $180 Beef Rib Bill?

The final stop was a beef rib restaurant Yang Sang-guk frequented as a child. The five men agreed not to discuss money there, but their camaraderie broke down when it was time to pay. Haha pressured Yoo Jae-suk, saying, "If you don't pay here, you're not a man," to which Yoo Jae-suk defensively replied, "I'm not a man!" A fierce battle of wits ensued over who would go to the bathroom. While Haha was in the bathroom, Yoo Jae-suk attempted to escape but was caught by Haha's fake water sound trick.

The five men, after much bickering, decided on a final game of fate, which Haha won. However, thinking the filming was over, Yoo Jae-suk went to the bathroom, only to return and find the bill handed to him. Joo Woo-jae orchestrated a plan to cancel the payment and everyone ran away. Betrayed by his colleagues, Yoo Jae-suk ended up paying the $180 bill alone. As Haha, Heo Kyung-hwan, Joo Woo-jae, and Yang Sang-guk fled, they joked, "For the local economy of Jinyeong, the national MC should pay once," and "It's not over until it's over. Thanks for the meal, Jae-suk!" leaving Yoo Jae-suk drenched and betrayed, but with a humorous ending.
