Culinary Adventures: Kim Min-kyung and Yoo Min-sang's Flavorful Journey Across Korea
On the episode of 'Am I a Big Eater?' aired on the 22nd, Kim Min-kyung visited Gwangju after hearing about a delicious chicken gangjeong spot. The restaurant fries chicken tenderloins in clean oil and coats them with a traditional Korean confectionery-style batter and special sauce, all made in-house. After tasting it, Kim remarked, "I thought it would be hard, but it's soft," adding, "It's sticky like traditional sweets yet stays crispy for a long time." Her pick of the day was the garlic soy sauce chicken gangjeong.
Yoo Min-sang explored Daejeon, where he encountered sundubu jjambbong and cream jjambbong. The dish, topped with fried tofu and soft tofu, had Yoo eagerly digging in. After tasting the cuttlefish, he humorously commented, "Cuttlefish is truly the boss, I'm being bossed around by it," and added, "Jjambbong is best enjoyed on-site." His pick of the day was the sundubu jjambbong.
Yoo Min-sang continued his journey in Daejeon, trying a charcoal-grilled platter featuring gopchang, makchang, ribs, and chicken feet. He commented, "The charcoal flavor is perfect." Reflecting on the graffiti on the restaurant walls, he said, "I was young once too," and mentioned a trend where couples take photos at Daejeon Station, covering the 'Dae' to show only 'Jeon,' while enjoying delicious food and dates. He demonstrated his unique way of eating by mashing rice balls and topping them with meat.
Finally, Kim Min-kyung, dressed in work clothes, visited a skate fish factory in Naju. Observing the processing and shipping done on the same day, she expressed surprise at the size of the skate fish and admired the method that minimizes ammonia odor. When various parts were offered as a service at the sales counter, she was pleased, saying, "They give a lot."
The food show 'Am I a Big Eater?' airs every Sunday at 10 AM on Comedy TV.
