Hwang Min-hyun Shines as Cover Star for 'Singles' Korea and Japan April Issue
In the interview, Hwang candidly shared his thoughts on the reunion reality program 〈Wanna One Go〉. He expressed concerns about whether the group could recapture their past camaraderie, saying, "I worried if we could be as lively as before, given we've all experienced the harsh realities of life." However, he added, "It was like 'right away.' Amazingly, we haven't changed. It felt like we were back to those days in an instant."
Reflecting on his bond with the members, Hwang remarked, "That time was when we received the most spotlight and love, and it was such a fleeting moment that it remains unforgettable," stirring nostalgia among fans. He also mentioned, "I'm always open to activities with NU'EST and Wanna One," raising anticipation for future endeavors.
Regarding his first solo single 〈Truth〉 released after completing his 1 year and 9 months of military service, Hwang stated, "It's a story for the fans who waited for me. I wanted to convey the message that we were always together, even if we couldn't be physically present."
Currently filming for the second season of the TVING original series 〈Study Group〉, Hwang teased, "The action scale has grown significantly." Having left a strong impression with his character Yoon Ga-min in Season 1, he is set to redefine his 'life character' once again. Hwang also expressed his desire to challenge himself as an actor, saying, "I want to try a psychopathic villain role in a Netflix original. I want to completely break the image of being upright and model-like," a statement that is likely to create buzz among fans.
Last month, Hwang successfully held fan meetings in Seoul, followed by Tokyo on April 4-5. All six performances across both cities sold out quickly, demonstrating his strong ticket power and fanbase even after military service. With a solo comeback, Wanna One reunion, confirmed future projects, and sold-out fan meetings, March has been a particularly busy and successful month for Hwang Min-hyun as he embarks on a new peak in his career post-military.
