During the episode, Park Shin-yang candidly discussed his journey as an artist. He shared that he has created approximately 200 paintings, stating, "Initially, I started with small pieces, but as my vision expanded, so did the size of my paintings." Some of his works have taken up to 10 years to complete.
Park Shin-yang explained that he has not sold any of his paintings, choosing instead to keep them all. "I never thought about selling them," he said, emphasizing his focus on the creative process rather than commercial gain.
When asked by Hong Jin-kyung how he manages his living expenses without selling his art, Park responded that he has concentrated on his work rather than sales. Kim Jong-kook inquired if he plans to sell them eventually, to which Park replied, "It's a pleasant thought, but then I wouldn't be able to show them." He added, "I could paint more, but replicating them is harder than expected. Selling them would limit opportunities to showcase them."
How Did Park Shin-yang Respond to 13-Year-Long Art Controversy?
Park Shin-yang also addressed the rumors of art forgery that have followed him for over a decade. He recounted, "Many people who visited my studio doubted if I actually painted the works." He admitted that the accusations initially angered him, but he realized, "I never explained the artistic process to the general public." This realization led him to merge acting and painting by planning an exhibition that showcases his creative process.
