20th Season's Young-sik Captures Hearts on 'I Am SOLO: Love Continues'

In the special episode of 'I Am SOLO: Love Continues', Young-sik from the 20th season received unanimous votes from four female participants.

On the episode aired on the 19th, ENA and SBS Plus's 'I Am SOLO: Love Continues' (hereafter referred to as 'Solo Love Continues') showcased the first date matching scene where solo women made their choices after introducing themselves with their partners.

How was the introduction matching conducted?

On this day, 10 solo men and women picked partners by drawing lots and had an hour to prepare for a 1:1 date and introduction. As a result, the pairs were matched as follows: Sang-cheol from the 13th season with Sun-ja from the 25th, Young-cheol from the 15th with Hyun-sook from the 27th, Young-ho from the 18th with Sun-ja from the 24th, Young-sik from the 20th with Sun-ja from the 17th, and Young-cheol from the 27th with Young-ja from the 25th.

How did Young-sik receive four votes?

After the introductions, the solo participants gathered in the common living room for a chat. During this time, Young-ho from the 18th season humorously remarked about Hyun-sook from the 27th season, saying, "I was surprised to see someone with the same mindset as me. I also became the top choice three times in a row." Then, the first date selection was announced. This choice was made by the women, and Sun-ja from the 17th season, followed by Sun-ja from the 24th, Sun-ja from the 25th, and Hyun-sook from the 27th, all chose Young-sik from the 20th season.

Only Young-ja from the 25th season chose Young-ho from the 18th season. Meanwhile, Sang-cheol from the 13th season, Young-cheol from the 15th, and Young-cheol from the 27th confirmed their solitary meals. Young-ho from the 18th season told the solo men, "Didn't I say? I saw it in the women's eyes," predicting that Young-sik would receive the votes. Young-cheol from the 15th season agreed, saying, "It was accurate," and added, "Our men were all for Young-ja from the 25th season, but only Young-ho from the 18th season chose Sun-ja from the 25th season," expressing his disappointment. Sang-cheol from the 13th season murmured, "It must have been tough being the only one with zero votes," and Young-cheol from the 27th season empathized, "Eating alone is really damaging."

How did the participants react?

Later, in an interview with the production team, Young-ho expressed, "Honestly, I have some resentment towards the production team. They always call me for the visual specials. It's been three consecutive times with black bean noodles, but I'll keep trying to improve." Young-sik, who received four votes, shared in an interview, "I remember the words of Young-sik from the 24th season, 'I'm speechless,'" and added, "I wonder if I can handle this. The PD won't know this feeling."

The solo women gathered in their room to share their thoughts on the date matching. Sun-ja from the 17th season said, "Young-ja from the 25th season is lucky to have a 1:1 date," expressing her envy. Young-ja from the 25th season added, "Is it the composure of a winner?" and mentioned, "Young-ho from the 18th season spoke wittily during his introduction." At this moment, Young-sik from the 20th season appeared and suggested a smoked duck restaurant with pumpkin for Sun-ja from the 24th season, who is a vegetarian. Sun-ja from the 24th season appreciated the thoughtful gesture, saying, "He's really considerate. I'm glad he found a harmonious dish with meat and vegetables." Subsequently, Young-sik took commemorative photos with the four solo women and headed out for a date.
