Kwon So-hyun Returns to the Screen with New Drama 'Empathy Cells'

Kwon So-hyun, formerly the youngest member of the group 4Minute, is making her return to the screen with the new drama 'Empathy Cells'. Previously, fellow 4Minute member Heo Ga-yoon was reported to be living a new life in Bali, Jeon Ji-yoon has become a web novel writer, HyunA married Yong Jun-hyung, and Nam Ji-hyun is now a Pilates instructor.

In 'Empathy Cells', Kwon So-hyun will portray Han Yi-jin, a rising star and rival to actress Yoo Ji-an, played by Kang Min-ah. The romantic comedy follows Yoo Ji-an, a woman who denies empathy, and Cha Eun-hwan, played by Kim Myung-soo, a man burdened with empathy, as they navigate a surreal event called 'emotional transfer' that leads them to invade each other's worlds and relearn emotions.

Han Yi-jin, Kwon's character, was once part of the same girl group as Yoo Ji-an and enjoyed great popularity. After the group's disbandment, she meets Yoo Ji-an again as an actress, and the two frequently clash.

Kwon So-hyun has previously showcased her wide acting range in various genres, including the KBS2 drama 'The Speed to You 493km' and tvN's 'The Killer's Shopping List'. She has also captivated audiences with her performances in films such as 'That Winter, I', 'Delivery', and 'Manhole'. This marks her first foray into romantic comedy, and anticipation is high for her chemistry with co-stars Kang Min-ah and Kim Myung-soo.

Additionally, Kwon will make her stage debut in the play 'Jeong-hee', opening on the 31st of this month, where she will play the role of Ji-an (young Jeong-hee). She will also star as the lead in the film 'Tango of Dawn', which has been invited to numerous international film festivals and is set to release in April.

'Empathy Cells', featuring Kwon So-hyun, is set to begin production with a target release in the latter half of the year.
