JTBC's 'Can't Do It Alone' Bids Farewell with Osaka Culinary Adventure

The episode aired on the 17th on JTBC, showcasing hidden culinary gems in Osaka, the hometown of Choo Sung-hoon, known for its gourmet delights. Despite its unique concept, the show maintained a viewership rating of 0-1% throughout its run.

Jeon Hyun-moo, Choo Sung-hoon, Lee Soo-ji, and Lee Se-hee embarked on a journey to explore Osaka's hidden food spots, starting with an okonomiyaki restaurant featured in a gourmet guide for eight consecutive years. Choo Sung-hoon's unique approach, such as checking the thickness of the grill and opting for a simple pork okonomiyaki instead of popular menu items, captivated viewers. He praised the dish, giving it a score just 0.5 points shy of his favorite spot.

During their car ride to the next location, Jeon Hyun-moo's obsession with food led him to extract Choo Sung-hoon's list of authentic Osaka eateries. Although hesitant, Choo revealed a yakiniku and ramen spot, which Jeon eagerly shared on camera. However, Choo humorously resisted sharing details about a curry and kushikatsu place.

After enjoying various non-alcoholic drinks at a hidden bar inside a photo booth, the group indulged in kushikatsu, including a giant shrimp tempura that even Choo had never seen before, tantalizing viewers' taste buds.

Choo, a gourmet himself, expressed slight disappointment at ordering a set menu for kushikatsu, which is best enjoyed fresh, but acknowledged it as a great value. Lee Soo-ji, who had to leave early, shared her sentiments, saying, "It felt like a time travel to Choo's childhood, and I'm glad we grew closer."

The finale saw Jeon, Choo, and Lee Se-hee at a lesser-known yakiniku spot, where Choo personally grilled meat for his companions, impressing them with the taste. The revelation that the meat was American beef added an element of surprise.

Reflecting on the experience, Jeon expressed gratitude, saying, "Osaka in my life is divided into before and after Choo Sung-hoon. I didn't know Osaka before. I'm so thankful." Choo reciprocated the sentiment, appreciating the meaningful day spent with his companions.
