Rookie Lawyer Triumphs Against Hospital Cover-Up in SBS Drama 'Shin-i-rang Law Office'
On the October 14th episode of SBS's 'Shin-i-rang Law Office' (directed by Shin Jung-hoon, written by Kim Ga-young and Kang Chul-kyu), Shin-i-rang (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) fights to clear the name of Lee Kang-pung (played by Heo Sung-tae), who died due to medical malpractice.
In this episode, Shin-i-rang, who starts seeing ghosts after setting up his office in a shaman's house, takes on the case of Lee Kang-pung, who died during a simple snoring surgery due to the surgeon's mistake. However, the hospital's attorney, Han Na-hyun (played by Lee Som), tries to shift the blame to Lee's past as a gang member and his heart surgery history, putting the trial in jeopardy.
As Lee Kang-pung's spirit possesses Shin-i-rang, causing chaos in the courtroom, Shin-i-rang seeks help from a priest to lay Lee's spirit to rest. However, Lee, unable to leave his daughter Ji-woo, who blames herself for his death, desperately resists. Determined, Shin-i-rang finds the only witness, nurse Oh Jin-sook, and learns that the EMR hard drive from the operating room holds the key evidence.
After the trial, Lee Kang-pung, through Shin-i-rang, bids a final farewell to his daughter Ji-woo, assuring her that his death wasn't her fault and that justice has been served. Hearing her father's voice, Ji-woo finally steps out of her room, shedding her grief. With his grievances resolved, Lee thanks Shin-i-rang for the brief happiness and vanishes, leaving Shin-i-rang reflecting on his own father's silent departure. The episode ends with a new ghost appearing before Shin-i-rang, hinting at another case to come.
