Oh Sang-jin Shares Heartwarming and Hilarious Family Moments on 'New Release Pyeonstorang'

Broadcaster Oh Sang-jin, who is married to announcer Kim So-young, shared a delightful story involving his mother.

On KBS 2TV's 'New Release Pyeonstorang', Oh Sang-jin, known as 'Oh Butler', joins his mother in the kitchen to prepare her signature dish, gopchang jeongol (beef tripe stew). The episode promises to reveal the charming side of Oh Sang-jin's mother, who is known for her love of a good drink, bringing laughter to viewers.

In the VCR segment, Oh Sang-jin is seen cooking with his mother, expressing his joy by saying, “This is my favorite.” The dish in question is his mother's special gopchang jeongol, a soul food he grew up with. Oh Sang-jin fondly recalls, “I was the only one who took gopchang jeongol to school as a lunchbox,” showing his gratitude with a warm gaze towards his mother.

However, there is more to the story of the gopchang jeongol. Oh Sang-jin's father humorously reveals, “Your mom made it whenever she wanted a drink,” adding a twist to the tale. His mother, with a cute smile, casually brings out a bottle of wine, adding to the humor. Oh Sang-jin comments, “My mom is the drinker in our family.” He then teases an intriguing past incident involving his mother, referred to as the 'Mother's Disappearance Case', which will be fully unveiled on 'Pyeonstorang'.

As the dish is completed, the family enjoys the gopchang jeongol with a glass of wine, his mother's favorite pairing. During the meal, Oh Sang-jin's father makes a phone call, suggesting that his wife might be missing her drinking buddy. This piques curiosity as Oh Sang-jin reveals, “Her drinking buddy is my father-in-law,” surprising everyone. He shares that both sets of parents are close friends, often traveling abroad together, evoking envy from all.
