Im Soo-hyang and Kang Seok-woo Shine in 'Your Glorious Season' with Heartfelt Performances

Im Soo-hyang and Kang Seok-woo are making their presence felt in the drama world.

In the fifth episode of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Your Glorious Season' (planned by Namgoong Seong-woo / written by Jo Seong-hee / directed by Jeong Sang-hee, Kim Young-jae / produced by Pan Entertainment), aired on the 6th, the narrative centered around Kim Na-na (played by Im Soo-hyang) and Park Man-jae (played by Kang Seok-woo) delivers a subtle resonance, enriching the emotional depth of the series.

In the drama, Kim Na-na is a character who left for France with dreams of becoming a designer and established herself as a first-generation fashion designer in Korea. With her strong charisma and innate sense, she successfully grew 'Na-na Atelier' but faced the tragedy of losing her children in an accident.

Since then, she has been the pillar for her three granddaughters, Song Ha-ran (played by Lee Sung-kyung), Song Ha-young (played by Han Ji-hyun), and Song Ha-dam (played by Oh Ye-joo). Especially close to Ha-ran, who lost her boyfriend Kang Hyuk-chan in an accident seven years ago and has since isolated herself emotionally, Kim Na-na quietly supports her, hoping she will smile again. She arranges a dinner with Seon Woo-chan (played by Chae Jong-hyeop) and sends them on a trip to Gyeongju, subtly bringing them together.

Kim Na-na has recently realized the onset of dementia and is discreetly organizing her affairs while keeping it hidden from her granddaughters. Her deep love for her family is poignantly portrayed in scenes where she coolly tells her youngest granddaughter, Song Ha-dam, to bring her fiancé Cha Yoo-gyeom (played by Kim Tae-young) home, and confides her condition only to him.

Im Soo-hyang adds depth to the drama with her nuanced portrayal of a designer's charisma, a grandmother's warmth, and the complex emotions following her dementia diagnosis. Her character's wit and humor resonate with both younger and older audiences, creating a multi-dimensional character.

Kang Seok-woo, as barista Park Man-jae who runs the café 'Rest', also exudes warmth. 'Rest' is a place where Song Ha-ran finds solace after her loss and is a regular spot for Seon Woo-chan. Man-jae naturally becomes a mentor and advisor to the young couple as Woo-chan moves in with him.

Park Man-jae's dialogue, comparing the revival of a withering geranium to life's resilience, amplifies the warm sentiment of 'Your Glorious Season', offering comfort to viewers. His words, as an elder with life experience, provide a soothing presence in the series.

Moreover, Park Man-jae and Kim Na-na share a past as childhood friends and first loves from Chuncheon 55 years ago, adding another layer of romance to the story. Their twilight romance, devoid of sensationalism, brings a gentle warmth to the series.

'Your Glorious Season' stands out by placing middle-aged characters at the core of its narrative, adding depth to the story. Kim Na-na and Park Man-jae embody the role of 'good adults', guiding the younger generation's romance and driving the series forward.
