Baek Ji-young and Jung Suk-won Open Up About Heartbreaking Miscarriages and Joy of Parenthood

Singer Baek Ji-young and actor Jung Suk-won have opened up about their painful experiences with two miscarriages.

On the 7th, the YouTube channel 'Baek Z Young' released a video titled 'The Unexpected Pregnancy Story of Baek Ji-young & Jung Suk-won's Daughter'.

In the video, Baek Ji-young prepared a meal of kimchi and boiled pork for the pregnant production staff. When the staff mentioned being six weeks pregnant, Baek Ji-young shared, "I had morning sickness. I would vomit if my stomach was empty." Jung Suk-won recalled, "My wife even developed gestational diabetes. She ate a whole tub of ice cream, which she never used to do."

Baek Ji-young continued, "After finding out I was pregnant, I started having morning sickness from the 8th week. If my stomach was empty, I felt nauseous and like I was going to vomit."

When asked about the food she craved the most during pregnancy, Baek Ji-young said, "I ate a lot of kimchi and ice cream, which I usually don't eat."

Recalling the day he heard about his wife's pregnancy, Jung Suk-won said, "I was sleeping in the morning when she woke me up, saying 'We're in trouble.'" Baek Ji-young added, "I was on tour and went to the hospital because my throat wasn't well. When they asked about the possibility of pregnancy, I said no, but they asked again, making me suspicious."

Baek Ji-young eventually took a blood test and found out she was pregnant. Jung Suk-won explained, "We had a miscarriage during the first pregnancy." Baek Ji-young added, "Yes, I was on tour then too, so I canceled everything when I was pregnant with Ha-im."

"We had two miscarriages," Jung Suk-won shared. "We didn't have high expectations about pregnancy. We just wanted to live well together, but when Ha-im was born, she was so beautiful. My daughter Ha-im and I are very close. I took care of her alone when Baek Ji-young went to perform in the U.S. Spending time with my daughter was a gift."
