Ha Jung-woo Returns to TV Drama After 19 Years with 'How to Become a Landlord in Korea'

Actor Ha Jung-woo, who is currently dating actress Cha Jung-won, has revealed his reasons for choosing his latest project and his interpretation of the character.

tvN's new weekend drama 'How to Become a Landlord in Korea' (written by Oh Han-ki, directed by Im Pil-sung, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Mindmark and Studio329) tells the suspenseful story of a debt-ridden landlord who becomes involved in a fake kidnapping plot to protect his family and building, which are more precious to him than life itself. The drama boasts a star-studded cast including Ha Jung-woo, Im Soo-jung, Kim Jun-han, Jung Soo-jung, and Shim Eun-kyung.

All eyes are on Ha Jung-woo as he returns to TV drama after 19 years. Known as a leading actor in Korean cinema, Ha Jung-woo is set to captivate viewers with his portrayal of Ki Soo-jong, a landlord who goes to great lengths to protect his building and family. He will depict the character's desperate struggle in this new role.

Ha Jung-woo chose 'How to Become a Landlord in Korea' because of the character's multifaceted appeal. He stated, "Soo-jong is a character that reveals human nature. He is sometimes good, sometimes bad, just an ordinary human being." He added, "When Soo-jong faces the threat of losing his building, which is his hope in life, he becomes desperate. The drama showcases his survival and endurance among more evil people, revealing the diverse aspects of human nature."

Expectations are high for Ha Jung-woo's intense performance. He shared, "The fake kidnapping plot that Soo-jong orchestrates takes unexpected turns, and as he gets deeper into trouble, he shows a darker side. I focused on convincingly portraying the process and emotions of this transformation."
