New JTBC Series 'Shining' Debuts with a Heartfelt Connection Between Two Young Souls
On October 6th at 8:50 PM, JTBC's new Friday series 'Shining' (directed by Kim Yoon-jin, written by Lee Sook-yeon) premiered its first episode, showcasing the evolving relationship between Yeon Tae-seo (played by Park Jin-young) and Mo Eun-ah (played by Kim Min-ju) as they reconnect in unexpected circumstances.
In the episode, Yeon Tae-seo, who moved to Yeon-woo-ri to live with his grandfather after losing his parents in an accident and caring for his injured brother Yeon Hee-seo (played by Sung Yoo-bin), encounters Mo Eun-ah at the library on his first day at a new school. Tae-seo, a top student with outstanding grades, and Eun-ah, who realized the importance of education later due to her responsibilities as her father's caretaker, share the library space and gradually grow curious about each other.
Initially, Tae-seo sets boundaries with Eun-ah's friendly gestures, but over time, he becomes accustomed to her presence in his daily life. The two build warm memories by riding bicycles together, sitting side by side on the bus, and sharing ice cream, gradually closing the distance between them.
However, when Eun-ah expresses her disappointment, Tae-seo finally reveals his true feelings. Encountering Eun-ah on his way to Seoul, Tae-seo tells her that she is a precious presence that makes anything possible for him, evoking a touching moment.
When Eun-ah expresses her desire to be together forever, Tae-seo responds affirmatively, gently holding her hand, marking the beginning of their romance. Viewers are eager to see how Tae-seo, who arrived in Yeon-woo-ri with emotional scars, and Eun-ah, who begins to dream while bearing life's burdens, will grow through each other.
