Heartfelt Decisions: 'I Am SOLO' Contestant Chooses Independence Over Romance

In a surprising twist, contestant Gukhwa decided to end her journey alone, despite receiving proposals from two suitors on the final decision day.

On the episode of SBS Plus and ENA's 'I Am SOLO, Then Love Continues' aired on the night of the 5th at 10:30 PM, viewers witnessed the participants making their final choices at the Solo Guesthouse.

During the broadcast, Gukhwa expressed her confusion and frustration as she struggled to make a decision, even from the early morning.

Gukhwa confided in fellow contestant Baekhap, recalling the case of Youngsook from the 22nd season's divorce special, who also received proposals from two men but chose not to make a final decision. Gukhwa admitted that she initially thought it was a strategy, but now fully understands the complexity of such a situation. Youngsook famously stated, "I want to leave it as an open ending, not the end."

Caught between Kyungsoo from the 26th season and Youngsoo from the 22nd season, Gukhwa confessed to having sleepless nights. Kyungsoo expressed his unwavering feelings and intention to pursue her regardless of the final decision, while Gukhwa was left confused due to the enjoyable dates she had with Youngsoo.

In an interview, Gukhwa admitted that she initially had the stereotype that Youngsoo, being a doctor and much older, might be conservative, but found their humor to be well-matched. She reflected on her past criticisms of indecisive contestants, realizing how difficult making a decision truly is.

As the final decision time approached, both Kyungsoo and Youngsoo sincerely expressed their feelings to Gukhwa. However, in a tearful moment, Gukhwa chose not to make a final decision, delivering an unexpected twist. Meanwhile, other contestants, Tulip and Youngsoo from the 28th season, as well as Baekhap and Sangcheol from the 22nd season, confirmed their feelings for each other and became final couples. Mr. Kim chose Yongdam, showing his determination, but Yongdam decided to hold off, citing insufficient time to get to know each other, leading to a mismatched conclusion.
