Singer Park Ki-young Faces Performance Crisis Due to Health Issues on 'Duet Across the Sea'
Singer Park Ki-young finds herself unable to perform on the day of the concert due to health issues.

On KBS 2TV's 'Duet Across the Sea,' Park Ki-young and Wouter Hamel are set to perform alongside Micky Kwang-soo and Cho Maeryeok in a guerrilla concert. Despite Micky Kwang-soo and Cho Maeryeok preparing a special dinner for Park Ki-young and Wouter Hamel the night before the performance, Park Ki-young, feeling unwell, apologized, saying, "I'm so sorry, but I feel like I'm going to die. I'll rest well and do my best for tomorrow's performance," and skipped the meal to rest. Upon arriving in the Netherlands, Park Ki-young had been tirelessly working on her musical collaboration with Wouter Hamel and gathering an audience of 300 people, leaving her with little time to rest.

As Micky Kwang-soo and Cho Maeryeok worried, the morning of the performance arrived. The shocking news that Park Ki-young's voice was not coming out due to her poor condition was delivered to everyone. Even during the previous day's practice, Park Ki-young had taken painkillers and practiced for five hours, continuing to rehearse late into the night at her accommodation. As the performance approached, Park Ki-young lost her voice, prompting the production team to suggest to Cho Maeryeok, "What if you sing, Maeryeok? It would be great if you could do something, whether it's singing or playing the guitar."

Cho Maeryeok, making his first public broadcast debut, is a global content creator with over a million subscribers for his music content and has previously busked with Wouter Hamel, raising expectations. However, he expressed his concerns, saying, "I usually need about one to two months of practice. I've never sung this before... I feel like it would be disrespectful to Ki-young and Wouter Hamel if I just wing it."

With the requirement of having more than 300 audience members for the concert to proceed, curiosity arises about how many people will come to see Park Ki-young and Wouter Hamel's performance, and whether Park Ki-young, who is unable to perform due to her condition, will be able to take the stage. Meanwhile, a local Dutch broadcaster's coverage of the event adds to the excitement, regardless of the mission's success.
