'Malja Show' Emerges as a New Powerhouse in Monday Night Entertainment with Comedian Kim Young-hee at the Helm

Comedian Kim Young-hee has taken the spotlight as the main host of 'Malja Show,' which has become a new powerhouse in Monday night entertainment. Notably, Kim Young-hee tied the knot with her husband, who is 10 years her junior, in 2021.

The episode of KBS2's 'Malja Show' that aired on the 2nd recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 3.1% (according to Nielsen Korea), setting a new personal best for the show. It also ranked first in viewership among terrestrial channels in the same time slot.

Kim Young-hee is undoubtedly the driving force behind the show's rising popularity. She goes beyond merely listening to concerns, openly sharing her personal life to connect with the audience. In the special episode aired on the 2nd, Kim revealed that she has been taking on the role of the head of her family since childhood. She also shared intimate stories about her younger husband, creating a sense of empathy with viewers.

In previous episodes, Kim candidly discussed the difficult times she faced when her image suffered due to family issues, sharing her struggles and offering heartfelt comfort by saying, "It's okay to be in the same place. The ground will become fertile as you keep walking." Her genuine words moved the audience. She also used her past experiences, such as a four-year-long unrequited love story and subtle conflicts with her mother, as material for humor and empathy, choosing to tackle them head-on in each episode.
