Kim Yong-gun Showcases Grandparenting Skills on 'Joseon's Love Conqueror'; Baek Ki-sung Faces Health Challenges

Veteran actor Kim Yong-gun demonstrated his adept grandparenting skills for his daughter-in-law Hwang Bo-ra and grandson Woo-in on TV CHOSUN's variety show 'Joseon's Love Conqueror.' Meanwhile, Baek Ki-sung, who is dealing with sudden hearing loss due to overexertion, shared his realistic concerns about pregnancy with his wife Lee Eun-bi. The episode achieved a nationwide viewership rating of 3.2%, peaking at 3.6%, securing the top spot among cable channels in its time slot, according to Nielsen Korea.

The episode aired on the 2nd featured Hwang Bo-ra's 19-month-old son, Kim Woo-in, in a lively appearance. Before heading to a snow sledding park, Hwang Bo-ra invited her father-in-law Kim Yong-gun to take on the role of a 'day nanny' for the first time. Kim Yong-gun also sent a warm video message to Choi Sung-kook, with whom he had previously worked as a father-son duo. Choi Sung-kook responded with humor, expressing gratitude for Kim's support. The episode also touched on Hwang Bo-ra's brother-in-law Ha Jung-woo and actress Cha Jung-won's rumored relationship, with Hwang Bo-ra hinting that Ha Jung-woo might have been more interested.

Hwang Bo-ra expressed admiration for Kim Yong-gun's willingness to visit a large shopping mall for his youngest son, Si-on, stating, "It's a time that won't come back for the child, so he was brave. It was touching." At the snow sledding park, Hwang Bo-ra and Kim Yong-gun took turns sledding with Woo-in, creating heartwarming moments. Jeong Yi-rang humorously noted that Woo-in seemed the most composed among the adults thrilled by the sledding experience.

Baek Ki-sung, known for his role in 'The Love Task Force,' shared that he hadn't heard from his parents since the last episode, where he and his wife showcased their affectionate relationship. Baek visited a traditional medicine clinic to check his health, revealing his struggle with sudden hearing loss in his right ear. The practitioner diagnosed him as being energetically depleted, likening his condition to being in debt. The couple laughed off the blunt assessment, which included comments on Baek's physical condition. Baek humorously recounted his efforts to meet expectations, joking about the toll it took on his 50s body.

The practitioner advised against pregnancy in their current state and recommended rest for Lee Eun-bi, who has been busy with daily life. After Baek's acupuncture treatment, Lee Eun-bi prepared a meal for visiting couple Yoon Jung-soo and his wife. Baek explained that he became a 'hardworking lover' by learning from his reserved father and responding to his wife's clear expectations.
