On a recent episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' former 4Minute member Heo Ga-yoon revealed her battle with binge eating disorder following the group's disbandment seven years ago.

The episode, aired on the 25th, featured guests including Dr. Jang Hyung-woo, who lost 38kg to overcome obesity, Heo Ga-yoon, who found solace in Bali, snowboard medalist Kim Sang-gyeom, and actor Park Ji-hoon from the film 'The King and the Clown.'

During the show, Heo Ga-yoon shared her current life, stating, "I've been living in Bali for three years," and emotionally recounted the sudden passing of her brother at the age of 33, which prompted her move.

She also opened up about her life post-4Minute and the struggles she faced. Recalling her experience with school bullying, she said, "I endured the violence because debuting as a singer was more important," adding, "I would plead, 'Just don't hit my face.'"

Transitioning from a singer to an actress proved challenging for Heo Ga-yoon. "I went to countless auditions, but things didn't go as planned. People always asked about 4Minute," she reflected.

The psychological pressure led to insomnia and binge eating disorder. She recounted, "I cried seeing my swollen face from chewing food," and described impulsively buying snacks from convenience stores.

She further shared, "I would return home, eat everything without taking off my coat, and then head to another store," expressing her distress at the sight of piled-up wrappers and her swollen reflection.

A doctor diagnosed her condition, saying, "Like a rubber band that snaps when stretched too far, your control system is broken."

Despite these challenges, Heo Ga-yoon expressed optimism, stating, "I'm finding the real 'me,'" and smiled, attributing her journey to a gift from her late brother.
