Korean Singer Jo Gap-kyung's Surprising Biological Age Revealed on TV Show
On the October 18th episode of TV Chosun's 'Perfect Life', hosts Oh Ji-ho, Hyun Young, Lee Sung-mi, and Shin Seung-hwan were joined by guest Jo Gap-kyung.
Upon Jo's appearance, Hyun Young exclaimed, "You look even younger now," while Oh Ji-ho added, "Among the celebrities I've seen, you're the one who hasn't changed at all," expressing his amazement.
Jo Gap-kyung, despite the compliments on her youthful appearance, modestly laughed and said, "It's quite embarrassing."
Though she is praised for her youthful looks, Jo admitted, "I'm far from maintaining myself," and added, "I've turned 60, and I don't know how I got here," revealing her lack of interest in health.
Jo mentioned, "My eyes often swell and itch, and my finger joints protrude and hurt. A hospital check-up revealed high oxidative stress levels. I wondered if it was because of my husband (Hong Seo-beom)," she joked.
A family medicine specialist explained, "Oxidative stress is when cells can't withstand damage," adding that it can accelerate aging and even affect DNA.
The show then revealed 'rapid aging' prediction images of Hyun Young, Lee Sung-mi, and Jo Gap-kyung, leaving Hyun Young speechless. Jo also commented, "I don't want to age like that," while Lee Sung-mi agreed, "I want to age slowly."
Later, Jo Gap-kyung visited a hospital with her eldest daughter, Hong Seok-hee (30), for a health check-up. Before the examination, they shared a light-hearted conversation over snacks. When Hong Seok-hee mentioned, "You might be a 'maintainer' (of weight)," Jo replied, "What if I gain more weight? I might weigh more than your dad," to which her daughter laughed, "You're publicly executing me."
The surprising test results revealed that Jo Gap-kyung's biological age is 42, astonishing everyone in the studio.
