Choi Soo-young Joins 'PRODUCE 101 JAPAN: The New World' as SEKAI Producer Representative

Actress Choi Soo-young is set to join the Japanese audition program as a SEKAI producer representative. Currently, Choi Soo-young is publicly dating actor Jung Kyung-ho for 14 years.

Choi Soo-young will be joining the fourth series of Japan's largest survival audition program, 'PRODUCE 101 JAPAN: The New World,' as the SEKAI producer representative. This series marks the first time the program's scale has expanded from Japan to a global audience. This season introduces simultaneous global broadcasting and a global voting system, airing in Japan via Lemino and globally, including Korea, through Mnet Plus. National producers, SEKAI producers, and viewers worldwide will participate in creating a new global boy group.

As the SEKAI producer representative leading 'PRODUCE 101 JAPAN: The New World,' Choi Soo-young is the first Korean artist to debut in Japan through the Korea-Japan joint audition program 'ASAYAN' in 2002 with the group Route 0. She later rose to fame with Girls' Generation, contributing to the global spread of K-POP. Choi has made her mark in music, broadcasting, advertising, and fashion, establishing herself as a key figure in the Hallyu wave.

In Japan, she holds the record for the highest debut album sales among foreign artists, with Girls' Generation's Japanese albums 'GIRLS GENERATION,' 'GIRLS & PEACE,' and 'LOVE & PEACE' ranking high on the Oricon charts. Through arena and dome tours, she has built a strong fanbase across Japan, drawing a cumulative audience of 810,000, the highest for a Korean female artist in Japan.
