Comedian Kim Jun-hyun Triumphs with Culinary Skills on 'Pyeonstorang'
On the October 13th episode of KBS2TV's 'New Release Pyeonstorang', a fierce menu competition unfolded under the theme 'Pork War', featuring renowned chefs like Lee Jung-hyun and Oh Sang-jin.
During the broadcast, Kim Jun-hyun shattered the stereotype that he only favors meat, showcasing his exceptional knowledge of fish dishes. He emphasized, "I hope people will drop the prejudice that I only like meat," revealing his extensive experience with various fish species from his past fishing show appearances. He proved his culinary prowess by satisfying the tastes of his notoriously picky senior colleagues.
To tackle the hassle of preparing fish, Kim Jun-hyun presented a clever solution: using readily available frozen boneless cutlassfish. He demonstrated a 'cooking frenzy' by creating dishes like cutlassfish fry, special sauce-topped yuringi, and a stew with braised flavors, leaving the cast in awe.
In the final showdown, Kim Jun-hyun's secret weapon was the 'Smoky Pork Rice Bowl', which highlighted the savory taste of potato rice. He received unanimous support from the menu evaluation panel, surpassing Lee Jung-hyun's cream pasta and Oh Sang-jin's rib stew. Upon winning, Kim Jun-hyun joyfully expressed, "I will join forces with pigs nationwide," and shared his gratitude and happiness.
Kim Jun-hyun's pork rice bowl, which captivated the taste buds of the entire evaluation panel, will soon be available to the public and launched in convenience stores nationwide.
