TV personality Seo Dong-joo has revealed why she purchased a 1.2 billion won home in Dobong-gu through an auction.

On the 12th, the YouTube channel 'Consumer Fairy's Urban Exploration' featured a video titled "From a Dilapidated House to a Fairytale Mansion: Seo Dong-joo's Blood, Sweat, and Tears in Creating an Unprecedented Interior (A Home for a Large Family?) - A 52-pyeong House in Chang-dong, Dobong-gu."

Seo Dong-joo explained her choice of the property, saying, "My husband and I didn't have a large seed money. We pondered, 'What can we do with this?'"

Seo Dong-joo began studying auctions, attending classes and visiting properties to learn. She noted, "I was able to purchase it for about 20% less than the market price."

The 1.2 billion won home Seo Dong-joo purchased has a land area of 52 pyeong, with 20 pyeong of living space and a 30-pyeong yard. The 50-year-old house was remodeled, leaving only the frame intact. Seo Dong-joo contributed her own interior design ideas, such as placing the kitchen at the forefront instead of a living room.

The unique structure of the house previously garnered attention when it was featured on EBS's 'Architecture Exploration House.'

Additionally, the area around Seo Dong-joo's newly acquired home in Chang-dong, Dobong-gu, has recently been designated as a redevelopment zone, adding to the good fortune.

Meanwhile, Seo Dong-joo remarried in June to an entertainment industry professional who is four years her junior. They chose this standalone house as their newlywed home. The house, originally built in the 1970s, was remodeled to have an interior area of approximately 20-21 pyeong based on construction area, and its market value of around 1.2 billion won has become a topic of interest.
