Park Shin-hye's 'Undercover Miss Hong' Tops Drama Buzz for Three Consecutive Weeks
The tvN weekend drama 'Undercover Miss Hong', which aired on February 8, has set a new personal best in household ratings for three weeks in a row. According to Netflix's official site Tudum, 'Undercover Miss Hong' climbed to 4th place in the non-English show category, up one spot from the previous week (as of February 11).
Additionally, according to the results released by FUNdex, the official platform of Good Data Corporation, for the second week of February, the drama ranked first in the TV-OTT integrated drama category and maintained its position as the most buzzworthy TV drama for three consecutive weeks. Lead actress Park Shin-hye also topped the buzzworthy actor list.
The daring undercover operations of Hong Geum-bo (played by Park Shin-hye), who hides her age, education, and career, bring fresh and unique excitement to viewers each week. Hong Geum-bo, who sheds her identity as a 35-year-old elite securities supervisor to become a 20-year-old entry-level employee, is a character who boldly speaks out against injustice. As she uncovers the identity of the whistleblower Yeppi and faces the unexpected variable of the IMF crisis, viewers are eager to see her next move.
The conflict between Hong Geum-bo and Shin Jung-woo, which began with an incident nine years ago, remains unresolved. Hong Geum-bo, once a promising accountant, became disillusioned and gave up after the death of a senior and colleague involved in the Hanmin Securities accounting fraud case. She was also deeply disappointed to learn that her lover and colleague at the same accounting firm, Shin Jung-woo, turned a blind eye to the corruption, leading her to turn her back on him. Every time the two clash, the narrative from nine years ago resurfaces, highlighting the deep wounds left by the Hanmin Securities accounting fraud case. As the two characters with opposing interests reveal their past and present cards, viewers are keen to see what unfolds.
Episode 9 of 'Undercover Miss Hong' will air on February 14 at 9:10 PM.
