Spring Fever Finale: A Heartfelt Proposal and Record-Breaking Ratings
The final episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Spring Fever' (directed by Park Won-gook, written by Kim Ah-jung, planned by CJ ENM STUDIOS, produced by Bon Factory) aired on Tuesday, the 10th, at 8:50 PM. It showcased Seon Jae-kyu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun) and Yoon Bom (played by Lee Joo-bin) overcoming their past traumas and promising a future together, warming viewers' hearts until the end. The finale achieved its highest ratings yet, with an average of 5.7% and a peak of 6.9% nationwide, and 5.6% average and 6.8% peak in the metropolitan area, according to Nielsen Korea.
In the episode, Yoon Bom decided to face the distorted past head-on, capturing viewers' attention. Due to her famous actress mother, Jung Nan-hee (played by Na Young-hee), she had to remain silent about past infidelity allegations. Yoon Bom candidly shared her story on the school website's bulletin board and visited her family, meeting Choi I-jun (played by Cha Seo-won) and her parents.
Meanwhile, Seon Jae-kyu stood by her side, trying to change the reporter's mind, while Yoon Bom revealed the truth to her students, taking a bold stand. Fellow teachers and residents of Shinsu-eup, though pretending to be indifferent, continued to support the couple, showcasing warm humanity.
A year later, Yoon Bom returned to her confident self. With Choi I-jun's help, she won the infidelity case, clearing her name, which thrilled the audience. Seon Jae-kyu appeared at Shinsu High School's event 'Meeting with Successful Professionals,' receiving a warm welcome from the villagers, unlike before. Kim Teacher, who returned to Shinsu-eup in Yoon Bom's place, humorously reacted to meeting Seon Jae-kyu, reminiscent of Yoon Bom's first encounter.
While Seon Jae-kyu and Yoon Bom lived their lives separately, Yoon Bom opened a gift box from Seon Jae-kyu, meant to be opened when she missed him, and hurried to Shinsu-eup. Her anticipation turned to laughter upon discovering the gift's true nature. The gift was a dragon-patterned sleeve that had covered Seon Jae-kyu's scar.
The sleeve bore Seon Jae-kyu's heartfelt confession, "Meeting Bom gave me the courage to show my scars to the world," bringing both laughter and emotion. Seon Jae-kyu then proposed to Yoon Bom, and she responded with an enthusiastic "Yes!" before he finished his speech.
'Spring Fever' ranked 2nd in the TV-OTT integrated drama buzz rankings for the first week of February, according to Good Data Corporation's FUNdex. Ahn Bo-hyun and Lee Joo-bin ranked 2nd and 4th in actor buzz rankings, respectively, and the digital video accumulated over 500 million views.
