Hwang Shin-hye Addresses Mixed-Race and Plastic Surgery Rumors on 'Baekban Journey'
On the October 8th episode of TV Chosun's 'Baekban Journey', actress Hwang Shin-hye joined Heo Young-man on a culinary trip to Anyang.
During the show, Hwang Shin-hye, known as the 'Goddess of School Supplies', confidently stated, "I had no rivals," showcasing her confidence in her beauty. When Heo Young-man praised her as a 'princess' and 'Barbie doll', Hwang humorously replied, "That's the first time I've heard that. I'm a computer beauty," bringing laughter to the set.
In a past broadcast, Hwang shared, "Since I was young, I wondered, 'Why am I so different?' My mom felt embarrassed when people stared at me." Her mother added, "She was so beautiful that I couldn't take my eyes off her. It wasn't embarrassing; people suspected she was mixed-race. Even my mother-in-law joked about the many Americans in Yeongdeungpo."
The '80s advertising queen, Hwang Shin-hye, reminisced, "I used to do all the cosmetic ads," and added, "Now, I'm truly grateful when people compliment my beauty. Honestly, my heart is prettier than my face."
Hwang also spoke about her 26-year-old daughter, Lee Jin-yi, who is pursuing an acting career. "She appeared in the drama 'Kim Manager's Story'. As a senior actor, I notice her flaws more, but I make sure to point them out and praise her strengths," she said, showing her 'doting mom' side.
