Korean TV Personality Ahn Jung-hwan Expresses Outrage Over Lenient Sentence in Shocking Murder Case
Korean TV personality Ahn Jung-hwan has expressed his outrage over a shocking murder case where the perpetrator received a mere three-year prison sentence.

On the October 6th episode of T-Cast E Channel's 'Brave Detectives 4' (directed by Lee Ji-sun), the 70th episode featured appearances by Detective Team 3 Leader Lee Sang-kyu, Detective Park Kwang-min, Narcotics Team Detective Kim Nam-kwon, Sergeant Hong Sung-hyun, Voice Phishing Team Officer Kwon Ga-ha, former KCSI Commissioner Yoon Wae-chul, and Detective Kim Jin-soo, who shared their investigation logs. Comedian Um Ji-yoon also joined as a guest, adding her witty charm to the show.

The case introduced by KCSI began with a shocking report of human bones discovered during a septic tank cleaning at a multi-family residence. A long bone was caught in the hose during the cleaning, and a total of seven human bones were found. Based on the size of the bones, the victim was estimated to be of small stature, around 150 cm tall. The presence of a car at the septic tank site made accidental death unlikely.

While verifying missing persons lists from the nearby area over the past decade, suspicion fell on the very residence where the bones were found. During the investigation, the male resident claimed to live only with his wife and children, but it was later revealed that his 80-year-old mother, who had been missing for five years, was living with them.

The missing person report was filed not by the woman's son but by her grandson. The man's wife claimed that the grandmother had run away and that neighbors saw a large truck taking her belongings, but there were no witnesses. DNA comparison between the grandmother's daughter and the discovered bones confirmed a mother-daughter relationship.

Upon separating the husband and wife for questioning, the husband stated he worked away from home and occasionally returned, hearing from his wife that his mother had run away. The wife could not identify any neighbors who witnessed the grandmother's departure and initially claimed the mother-in-law was already deceased, later changing her story to say she pushed her in anger, resulting in her death. She remained silent about the exact circumstances of the death.

The wife claimed that upon returning home, she found the house in disarray with feces and urine, and accused the grandmother of infidelity and verbal abuse. She alleged that while carrying the grandmother's body on a rainy day, she slipped, causing the body to accidentally fall into the septic tank. However, testimonies revealed that the grandmother had no medical records of dementia or incontinence.

Ultimately, due to the lack of decisive evidence regarding the murder process, the wife received a three-year prison sentence. Ahn Jung-hwan, observing the case, expressed his anger, stating, "The thought of this will linger with me for days."
