'Adultery Is Not the Issue' is a black comedy that revolves around a popular influencer couple known for their happy family image and their neighbors, a doctor couple embroiled in a messy divorce. As secrets unravel, even adultery seems trivial compared to the chaos that ensues.
Jo Yeo-jeong, who has delivered impactful performances in films like 'Zombie Daughter', 'The Hidden Face', and 'Parasite', as well as the drama 'Made in Korea', will portray Soo-jung, a dermatologist living next door to Kyung-hee, who is determined to protect her only daughter.
Kim Jae-chul, who made a mark with the film 'Grave Robbery' and showcased a wide acting range in dramas like 'Annoying Love' and 'Love on a Tightrope', will play Bo-sung, Soo-jung's ex-husband who will stop at nothing to regain custody of their daughter.
These four actors, known for their compelling performances, will unravel secrets that lead to unpredictable events, showcasing explosive chemistry and intense drama.
During the script reading session, the actors displayed remarkable synergy, creating an immersive atmosphere that felt like an actual shoot. The dialogue, filled with tension and humor, highlighted the series' tone.
After the reading, Kim Hye-soo remarked, "Everything was unique. The storytelling and the characters' ensemble were intriguing." Director Lee Chang-hee, known for his unique style in dramas like 'The Killer's Shopping List' and 'Strangers from Hell', and the film 'The Vanished', will helm the series. His distinctive storytelling and character development are expected to elevate the black comedy to a sophisticated level.
The series is produced by Firstman Studio, co-founded by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the director behind the global phenomenon 'Squid Game', and producer Kim Ji-yeon. Hwang Dong-hyuk will also serve as the showrunner and producer, enhancing the overall quality of the series.
