Chae Jong-hyeop Shares Excitement for New Drama 'In Your Shining Season' with Co-star Lee Sung-kyung

Actor Chae Jong-hyeop has expressed his excitement about working with actress Lee Sung-kyung, who is three years his senior, in the upcoming MBC drama 'In Your Shining Season.'

Set to premiere on the 20th, 'In Your Shining Season' is a new Friday-Saturday drama that tells the unpredictable and radiant romance between Chan, a man who lives every day like an exciting summer vacation, and Ran, a woman who has confined herself to winter. Their fateful meeting awakens frozen time.

In the drama, Chae Jong-hyeop plays Sun Woo-chan, an animator at Can Animation Studio. Sun Woo-chan is a character with a bright and positive energy but harbors pain and scars beneath the surface. Reuniting with Song Ha-ran (played by Lee Sung-kyung) after seven years, Sun Woo-chan faces unexpected secrets and enters a new phase of his life.

Chae Jong-hyeop shared why he chose 'In Your Shining Season,' saying, "The logline immediately caught my attention. The phrase 'Which season of life are you in right now?' made me ponder deeply." He recalled his first encounter with the project, adding, "Not only the overall story but also the transformation of past and present due to specific events, and the inclusion of love, people, and growth in that process, were very appealing."

Regarding his character Sun Woo-chan, Chae Jong-hyeop explained, "He appears bright on the outside but carries pain and scars within. He possesses a kind charm, growing through his experiences and aiming to help others." He also expressed his excitement and cautiousness about portraying such a character, saying, "As an actor, I'm thrilled to play this role, but I'm also careful about expressing the character delicately."

Chae Jong-hyeop spoke about the chemistry with his co-stars, stating, "The chemistry and rapport with the actors are excellent. Lee Sung-kyung creates a great atmosphere on set and immerses herself in her role as Ha-ran as soon as filming begins, which helps me naturally immerse myself as well. The senior actors not only perform well during filming but also create a warm atmosphere on set, and I learn a lot from their interactions with the staff, feeling positive energy."

'In Your Shining Season' premieres on the 20th at 9:50 PM.
