Actress Park Jin-joo Shines in 10th Anniversary Musical 'Maybe Happy Ending'
The musical 'Maybe Happy Ending', which celebrated its 10th anniversary, saw all seats sold out for every show. Park Jin-joo played the role of Helperbot 6 'Claire' from November last year to January this year at the Doosan Art Center, leaving a lasting impression on audiences and marking a grand finale for the Seoul performances.
Set in a future Seoul, 'Maybe Happy Ending' tells the story of 'Oliver' and 'Claire', robots created to assist humans, as they discover the emotion of love. The musical has received international acclaim, winning six awards at the 78th Tony Awards in the U.S., and recently, the 10th anniversary performance won the Best Production (over 400 seats) at the 10th Korea Musical Awards.
Park Jin-joo's clear tone and strong vocal skills fully immersed the audience in Claire's resonant narrative. Through numbers like 'What is Love' and 'First Time in Love', she captured Claire's journey of slowly discovering love with Oliver, evoking a sense of excitement. Her portrayal of Claire's poignant emotions during the impending farewell with Oliver, through songs like 'Nevertheless' and 'You Can Remember That', deeply moved the audience.
She continued, "I tried my best to repay the love I received at each performance. If my feelings were conveyed even a little, I would be truly happy. Thank you for always sending warm love. I will continue to strive to return even more love, whether in this production or elsewhere. Stay healthy and I love you!" she concluded.
Having once again demonstrated her solid prowess as a leading musical actress through 'Maybe Happy Ending', Park Jin-joo is now preparing for upcoming performances in Busan and Gwangju.
