Netflix Star Yoo Si-eun Faces Elimination in 'Miss Trot 4' Auditions

Yoo Si-eun, who gained fame through Netflix's reality show 'Single's Inferno 3', ventured into the world of trot music but was unable to advance past the preliminary auditions.

On the October 27th episode of TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot 4 Unreleased Special', Yoo Si-eun, a former Miss Korea runner-up and current model and influencer, took the stage for the master audition round.

As soon as Yoo Si-eun appeared, her striking resemblance to celebrities like Jennie and Jang Won-young drew gasps from the waiting room and judges' panel. Host Kim Sung-joo asked about her relationship status, to which Yoo Si-eun wittily replied that she is currently single, lightening the mood. Competing in Group B of the workplace division, Yoo Si-eun presented herself with a calm and graceful demeanor, contrasting her usual confident persona.

For her audition, Yoo Si-eun chose Go Han-woo's 'Amyeon', delivering an emotional performance with her clear voice. Despite her evident nervousness, she completed the song and received a total of 11 hearts, including 5 from the national masters and 6 from the senior masters, narrowly missing the chance to advance to the next round.

Judge Jang Min-ho noted that although she appeared somewhat uneasy at first, she maintained the emotional flow of the song well. Despite the mixed reactions from the judges, Yoo Si-eun faced immediate elimination.

Judge Ahn Sung-hoon praised Yoo Si-eun's performance, noting that despite the challenging nature of the song with minimal instrumental accompaniment, her trembling yet touching delivery was impressive. He observed that her voice became more comfortable to listen to as her nerves settled towards the end. Ahn Sung-hoon expressed regret over her song choice, suggesting that a simpler song could have better showcased her potential. Although her journey in the competition ended here, Yoo Si-eun left a strong impression on viewers by shedding her influencer image and demonstrating her genuine passion for trot music.
