Ryu Si-won Opens Up About His Desire to Publicly Introduce Wife Lee Ah-young
Ryu Si-won, star of 'Joseon's Love', expressed his eagerness to introduce his wife, Lee Ah-young, to the public.

On the October 26th episode of TV Chosun's 'Joseon's Love', the couple Ryu Si-won and Lee Ah-young met with another couple, Yoon Jung-soo and Yoon Jin-seo.

During the meeting, Yoon Jung-soo remarked, "After our wedding aired, articles about your wife were the most frequent. I was worried about the exposure. Did you receive a lot of calls?"

Lee Ah-young admitted, "I received many messages asking, 'Are you finally going public?'" Ryu Si-won confessed, "I really wanted to introduce my wife. When she goes out with friends, many men ask for her contact information. While I'm not worried, it does get overwhelming. I wanted people to know that Lee Ah-young is Ryu Si-won's wife."

When asked about her decision to appear on the show, Lee Ah-young hesitated. Ryu Si-won offered, "Should I step out?" showing his consideration. Lee Ah-young revealed, "After attending Yoon Jung-soo's wedding, I was initially very worried."

She continued, "Even before, when my husband appeared on TV, I was concerned about people's reactions. He's such a good person, and it frustrated me that people viewed him negatively. I was worried about being portrayed in a bad light again."

Lee Ah-young shared that she wanted to show their happy married life on television, saying, "I decided to appear because I thought it would be a chance to show that my husband is a caring and good person."

Ryu Si-won, who married his wife 19 years his junior, reflected, "I was in the class of '91, and my wife was born in '91. When I debuted, she was just three years old." He recalled the initial opposition from his mother-in-law, "There was the age difference, my divorce history, and the fact that I'm not much younger than my in-laws. I assured them I could make her happy."

Lee Ah-young revealed that during their wedding preparations, she received a lucrative offer from a major academy with a seven-year contract but turned it down to marry Ryu Si-won. Ryu expressed his gratitude, "I'm thankful she chose me, and I carry a sense of guilt throughout our marriage, wondering if she missed opportunities because of me. As her husband, I support her in finding new opportunities."

When asked about the best part of being married to Ryu Si-won, Lee Ah-young responded, "Just his presence is always reassuring and reliable." Ryu Si-won added, "My love for her hasn't changed since our honeymoon. I'm surprised at myself."

Ryu Si-won married Lee Ah-young, a math instructor from Daechi-dong, in February 2020. The couple welcomed their daughter, Seo-yi, in 2024.
