Korean comedian Jung Hyung-don has expressed his frustration over fake news involving his wife, Han Yu-ra, during the time of his mother's passing.

Jung criticized the current trend of spreading misinformation for views, stating, "It's even more annoying that people make money off this," highlighting his discontent with the situation.

On the 6th, a video titled "Why is my wife being criticized? Let's not make money off things like this in 2026" was released on 'Mungchin TV.' In the video, Jung Hyung-don reviewed comments related to shorts videos spreading fake news about him and his family, unable to hide his bewilderment.

The content falsely claimed that Jung had downplayed his debt by a quarter at the time of his marriage, lost control of his finances after marriage, and delayed registering his marriage by 11 months due to debt issues. While Jung acknowledged some early financial struggles, he firmly denied the claim about the marriage registration delay, saying, "What are they talking about? It wasn't because of debt. Are they crazy?"

The video also falsely suggested that Jung's wife and daughters staying in Hawaii led to his mental health issues and a break from broadcasting. Jung questioned, "Are they saying I stopped broadcasting because my wife and kids went abroad for education?"

Jung's anger was particularly fueled by rumors related to his mother's passing. The content claimed that his wife remained in Hawaii during the funeral, which Jung refuted, stating, "She came back with the kids. Of course, she did." He expressed his frustration, saying, "It's ridiculous that I even have to clarify this."

Jung mentioned the thousands of comments on the video, expressing his irritation, "It's infuriating that people make money off this. People believe it and comment, thinking they can tear apart a happy family. It's deeply hurtful." He urged, "Let's not make money off things like this. Let's live properly and humanely by 2026."

Jung Hyung-don married Han Yu-ra, a former TV writer, in 2009, and they have twin daughters who currently reside in Hawaii.
