Singer-Songwriter Yoon Jong-shin Pays Tribute to Late Actor Ahn Sung-ki
On the 5th, Yoon Jong-shin shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram, saying, "Thank you so much for a long time. I really liked you. I will not forget you," along with a photo.
The photo shows Ahn Sung-ki in his younger years, showcasing his handsome appearance. Yoon Jong-shin reminisced about Ahn Sung-ki's long career and expressed his condolences.
Ahn Sung-ki passed away at the age of 74 after battling blood cancer. His agency, Artist Company, stated on the same day, "He was a 'national actor' who valued dignity and responsibility as a person beyond being an actor, and respected fellow artists and the field. We feel deep sorrow at the sudden news and wish for the deceased's peace."
The late actor's funeral will be held as a film industry funeral, organized by the Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation and the Korean Actors Association. Shin Young-kyun will serve as the honorary funeral chairman, with director Bae Chang-ho, Korean Actors Association Chairman Lee Gap-sung, Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation Acting Director Shin Eon-sik, and Korean Film Association Director Yang Yoon-ho as co-funeral chairmen. Actors Lee Jung-jae, Jung Woo-sung, and other film industry figures will participate in the procession to accompany the deceased on his final journey.
The funeral hall is set up in Room 31 at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, with the funeral service scheduled for 6 AM on the 9th. The burial site will be at Byeolgeurida in Yangpyeong.
Meanwhile, Yoon Jong-shin recently apologized to his audience after struggling with a cold accompanied by bronchitis symptoms. He stated, "I received intensive treatment for five days and pushed through yesterday's performance, but my vocal cords were not in good condition, and I couldn't deliver a good performance for two hours." He added, "I woke up this morning and my condition hasn't improved, so I will cancel the remaining performances."
The following day, Yoon Jong-shin shared on his social media, "I went to the hospital as soon as I woke up to get my voice back... and spent six days without meeting anyone," along with a photo of himself receiving an IV. He expressed his frustration, saying, "I don't think I can sing the way I used to, as I want, and in the way I've been singing."
