Actor Ahn Sung-ki Passes Away at 74: Tributes Pour In
On the 5th, singer Bae Chul-soo took to Instagram to share his condolences, posting a photo of Ahn visiting the 'Bae Chul-soo's Music Camp' studio, along with the heartfelt message, "Ahn Sung-ki, who always greeted me with a bright smile, rest in peace."
Singer Yoon Jong-shin also paid tribute to the late Ahn Sung-ki, sharing a past photo of the actor on his social media with the words, "Thank you for everything. I truly admired you. I will never forget." Actor Lee Si-eon expressed his deep sorrow, stating, "I grew up dreaming while watching your performances. I have always respected you. Rest in peace, Ahn Sung-ki."
In addition, fashion designer Hwang Jae-geun, chef Ahn Yoo-sung, actor Shin Hyun-joon, and UNICEF Korea Committee have all expressed their condolences following the news of Ahn Sung-ki's passing.
Ahn Sung-ki had been battling blood cancer up until his death. Diagnosed in 2019, he was declared cancer-free in 2020 after treatment, but the disease recurred six months later during follow-up observations.
Born in 1952, Ahn made his debut at the age of five in the 1957 film 'Twilight Train.' Over his 60-year career, he appeared in approximately 200 films, earning the love and admiration of the nation as a cherished actor.
