Veteran Actor Ahn Sung-ki in Critical Condition After Cardiac Arrest
Veteran South Korean actor Ahn Sung-ki has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition following a cardiac arrest on October 30. The actor is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.

Ahn collapsed at his home during a meal when food became lodged in his throat. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital's emergency room. Ahn was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2019 and was declared cancer-free in 2020 after treatment. However, his condition relapsed six months later during follow-up observations.

Born in 1952, Ahn Sung-ki is a revered figure in the South Korean film industry, often referred to as the 'true elder' of Korean cinema. He made his debut at the age of five in the 1957 film 'Twilight Train' and has appeared in over 70 films as a child actor and more than 90 films as an adult.
