Veteran Actor Ahn Sung-ki Hospitalized in Critical Condition After Choking Incident
Veteran South Korean actor Ahn Sung-ki has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition after experiencing cardiac arrest. He is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.
On the afternoon of the 30th, Ahn collapsed at his home while eating, with food obstructing his airway. He was immediately given CPR and transported to a nearby hospital's emergency room.
On the 31st, Ahn's agency, Artist Company, released an official statement saying, "Actor Ahn Sung-ki was hospitalized due to a sudden deterioration in his health and is currently under medical care. We are awaiting further updates based on the medical team's assessment."

Ahn was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2019 and was declared cancer-free in 2020 after treatment. However, his condition relapsed six months later during follow-up observations. Born in 1952, Ahn Sung-ki is a revered figure in the Korean film industry, often referred to as a 'true elder.' He debuted at the age of five in the film 'Twilight Train' in 1957 and has appeared in over 70 films as a child actor and more than 90 films as an adult.
