Volleyball Star Kim Yeon-koung Wins Rookie Award at 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards

Kim Yeon-koung, a former volleyball player, has been honored with the Rookie Award.

The '2025 MBC Entertainment Awards' took place at 8:50 PM on the 29th at the new MBC headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo and Jang Do-yeon.

On this day, the Female Rookie Award was presented to Kim Yeon-koung, who ventured into the entertainment industry through the variety show 'Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung.'

Upon receiving the award, Kim Yeon-koung expressed her surprise, saying, "I didn't expect this at all, so I didn't prepare an acceptance speech. I was sitting with Captain Pyo Seung-joo, wondering if I should prepare something."

She continued, "It's meaningful that a program based on volleyball received so much love. I'm grateful to the production team for creating such a great show and to the players for their hard work. There are many people to thank, and I will reach out to them. I also thank my family."

Kim added, "Receiving the Rookie Award despite not being a broadcaster seems like a sign to continue doing broadcasts occasionally. Thank you for this great honor."
