Tears and Triumphs: DinDin's Emotional Farewell on '2 Days & 1 Night'

DinDin sheds tears during the final shoot of the year for '2 Days & 1 Night'.

On the December 28th episode of KBS 2TV's '2 Days & 1 Night Season 4', the members embarked on a 'Year-End Hardship Settlement Race' in Sacheon, Goseong, and Namhae, South Korea.

During the selection process for the 'luck of the draw' team, Kim Jong-min was suspected of stealing a lottery ball. When the producer suggested, "Check his pockets," Kim Jong-min, feeling wronged, exclaimed, "Who falsely accused me? Do you doubt me?" and proved his innocence.

Ultimately, the 'GoDinGamRae' team, consisting of Moon Se-yoon, DinDin, and Jo Se-ho, was chosen to plunge into the winter sea. DinDin humorously remarked, "Just three days ago, I was with James Cameron for 'Avatar'," highlighting the stark contrast in his experiences.

Despite the chilly challenge, DinDin expressed gratitude for the support received and looked forward to the coming year, shouting the show's slogan as they completed the final plunge of the year. The trio held hands and bravely entered the sea, emerging with shivers and laughter.

Jo Se-ho commented, "I feel refreshed after the plunge. It woke me up, but I might faint in three minutes," causing laughter with his 'post-plunge symptoms'.

Before the dinner selection game, the members took time to read letters from '2 Days & 1 Night' fans. They expressed gratitude for the wide-ranging support, from an 8-year-old elementary student to an 80-year-old grandmother, and even a fan from Poland.

Particularly moved by a letter from a fan who found joy in the show despite being ill, DinDin was overwhelmed with emotion and shed tears. He proudly stated, "In this divided era, a show that connects generations is precious. We are the only program that can make the whole family laugh."

DinDin continued, "What makes me sad is that even when filming is tough, stressful, and frustrating, hearing 'I endure the week because of this' makes me feel sorry and grateful. Knowing we are a source of hope for the week is something I'm thankful for, and it motivates me to try harder."

Meanwhile, the members successfully won the indoor sleeping arrangement game, enjoying a rare night indoors together. As they watched the sunrise and made wishes, the eldest member, Kim Jong-min, shared a hopeful message for the new year: "In 2025, let's forget all the past troubles. I wish for only good things to come."
