SBS Drama 'Dynamite Kiss' Concludes with Record-Breaking Ratings and a Happy Ending
According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode of 'Dynamite Kiss,' which aired on the 25th, achieved a peak rating of 8.1%, with 7% in the metropolitan area and 6.9% nationwide, setting a new personal best for the series. It ranked first in viewership among all weekday dramas for seven consecutive weeks. The drama also topped the 2049 demographic ratings, a key indicator of channel competitiveness, with an average of 1.8% and a peak of 2.4%. 'Dynamite Kiss' maintained its popularity throughout its run, sweeping various first-place rankings and ending on a high note.
Characters Gong Ji-hyeok (played by Jang Ki-yong) and Go Da-rim (played by Ahn Eun-jin) found happiness in both love and work, culminating in a perfect ending. The drama's success both domestically and globally marked a significant achievement for SBS's weekday drama lineup.
Overjoyed, Gong Ji-hyeok rushed to Go Da-rim, but Yoo Tae-young, unable to contain his anger, hit Gong Ji-hyeok with a car. Go Da-rim, shocked, rushed to his side, hoping for him to wake up. However, when Gong Ji-hyeok awoke a month later, he had forgotten all his happy memories with Go Da-rim and reverted to his old self, distrustful of love.
Go Da-rim decided to leave Gong Ji-hyeok for his sake. Over time, Gong Ji-hyeok felt inexplicable loneliness, while Go Da-rim started her own company and lived her life to the fullest. A year later, they reunited at the party venue where they had shared a 'catastrophic' kiss, leading to another explosive kiss. Gong Ji-hyeok asked, "Shall we do it again?" and finally regained all his memories.
'Dynamite Kiss' left viewers with a sweet sense of excitement until the end. The final scene featured Gong Ji-hyeok and Go Da-rim's kiss, followed by all the actors dancing joyfully, encapsulating the drama's charming and quirky appeal.
