Actor Song Kang Purchases Luxury Apartment in Seoul for $4.54 Million
According to reports on the 17th, Song Kang acquired a 227 square meter unit in the 'Seoul Forest Hillstate'(서울숲 힐스테이트) complex at the end of June. The ownership transfer was completed last month, marking the highest recorded transaction price for the complex since its establishment.
The registered maximum bond amount is approximately 4.6 billion KRW, suggesting that Song Kang's loan is estimated at around 4.2 billion KRW, which is about 60% of the purchase price. Despite the South Korean government's real estate measures announced on June 27th, which reduced the mortgage limit in the metropolitan area, Song Kang managed to finalize his contract on the day of the announcement, thus avoiding the new regulations.
Seoul Forest Hillstate is a prominent complex that transformed Seongsu-dong from an industrial area into a burgeoning affluent neighborhood. Developed by Hyundai Engineering & Construction in 2006 under the 'Hillstate' brand, the complex is known for its distinctive design and landscaping, offering high-rise units with views of the Han River. The resident list includes notable figures such as actors Namkoong Min, Lee Sang-yoon, singer Eric, and former baseball player Park Chan-ho.
Song Kang debuted in the entertainment industry in 2017 with the tvN drama 'The Liar and His Lover.' He quickly gained attention for his striking resemblance to Yook Sung-jae, earning the nickname 'face genius.' Over the years, he has risen to leading roles in major productions like 'Sweet Home' and 'My Demon.' Song Kang completed his mandatory military service in April last year and was discharged as a sergeant in October.
