Big Bang's Daesung Wins Hearts as a Trot Singer on '6 O'Clock My Hometown'
On the October 15th episode of KBS1TV's '6 O'Clock My Hometown,' Daesung made a special appearance.
During the show, Daesung, alongside youth leader Son Heon-soo, visited a remote village in Gangwon Province to offer a memorable day for the elderly residents.
Daesung explained his appearance by saying, "I am currently active as a trot singer after being an idol. I wanted to receive the love of the elderly, so I came to '6 O'Clock My Hometown.'" To assist a struggling general store truck owner during the harsh winter, Daesung and Son Heon-soo joined the truck, traveling through the village to sell and deliver necessary goods to the elderly who find it difficult to travel to town.
While on the move, they met elderly workers at a bus stop, selling and delivering items they needed. The seniors expressed gratitude, saying, "It's nice that you come to us so we don't have to go to town." The truck owner praised Daesung for his efforts, to which Daesung humorously replied, "I've done a lot of serving."
Finally, after navigating winding mountain roads, Daesung and Son Heon-soo arrived at the village hall, warmly welcomed by the seniors. They sold goods and visited a widow to replace a light bulb, sharing the love they received.
After the VCR ended, the hosts asked Daesung about becoming a regular on the show. Daesung enthusiastically responded, "I had so much fun. The chemistry with Son Heon-soo was great, and I'd love to come back if given the chance. I've always wanted to be on '6 O'Clock My Hometown.'" He added, "I've been receiving love as a trot singer after my time with Big Bang, and it feels great to give back." Daesung recently released his trot single 'Limit Exceeded' on October 10th and is actively promoting it.
