Legendary Korean Actress Kim Ji-mi Passes Away at 85 in the U.S.
According to the film industry on the 10th, Kim Ji-mi recently suffered from shingles, which weakened her health, leading to her passing in the United States.
Kim Ji-mi made her debut in the 1957 film 'Twilight Train.' With her striking looks, she was often referred to as the 'Elizabeth Taylor of Korea' and became one of the top stars of her time.
Throughout her career, which spanned into the 1990s, Kim Ji-mi appeared in 450 films. In the 1980s, she founded her own film company, Jimi Film. In 2019, she was honored with the Contribution to the Arts Award at the 9th Beautiful Artist Awards.
The Korean Film Council is reportedly preparing a memorial service to honor her legacy.
