Big Bang's Daesung Opens Up About Debut Challenges and New Trot Song 'Over the Limit'
On the morning of the 9th at 8:45 AM, Daesung appeared on KBS 1TV's 'Morning Yard - Tuesday Guest Segment.'
During the broadcast, Daesung revealed that although he is usually quiet, he grew up balanced due to his strict father, which allowed him to express his talents outside as a 'dual personality.'
Daesung confessed that he aimed for YG Entertainment for his debut because he was inclined towards black music and hip-hop. He prepared for the audition with this focus and shared that he passed the audition in one go and went through the third and final interview. Daesung recounted that YG's CEO Yang Hyun-suk chose him not for his singing but for his 'smiling face,' which Yang personally told him.
After Big Bang's debut and their hit song 'Lies,' Daesung noted that his parents' expressions softened, and they began to boast about him. Contrary to his initial thoughts, Daesung has been consistently giving his parents an allowance since his first earnings.
Daesung also addressed the rumor of his nickname 'Cash Rich.' He clarified, "I'm not the type to desire material things," adding, "I use my money to buy delicious food for my parents, and I don't keep much cash these days; most of it is in the bank."
