Lee Je-hoon Takes on a 15-Year-Old Cold Case in 'Taxi Driver 3'
In the sixth episode of SBS's 'Taxi Driver 3', which aired on the night of the 5th at 9:45 PM, Kim Do-gi (played by Lee Je-hoon) and Jang Sung-chul (played by Kim Eui-sung) set out to solve the 'murder without a body' case, the starting point and only unsolved case of Rainbow Taxi's revenge service.
During the episode, Jang Sung-chul learns that his acquaintance Park Dong-soo (played by Kim Ki-cheon), whom he had a special connection with 15 years ago, is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's after a hit-and-run accident. Park Dong-soo's son, Park Min-ho (played by Lee Do-han), was murdered by his teammate Lim Dong-hyun (played by Moon Soo-young), but since the body was never found, Lim Dong-hyun received only a five-month sentence. Park Dong-soo was fighting alone in court to find his son's remains. He left a message saying, "Please clear my son's injustice," and attempted an extreme choice, but Jang Sung-chul stopped him and promised to help with the revenge.
The two men worked together to find clues and discovered the presence of an accomplice hiding in a blind spot on the volleyball team's locker room CCTV, talking to someone behind Lim Dong-hyun, who was assaulting Park Min-ho. They planned to meet Lim Dong-hyun on the day of his release to uncover the truth, but Park Dong-soo suddenly disappeared, leaving the revenge service's first mission incomplete.
Fifteen years later, Jang Sung-chul, seeing Park Dong-soo who no longer recognizes him due to dementia, regrets, "What if I had searched more persistently?" Kim Do-gi responds, "That's not regret; it's something we need to resolve," and announces the reactivation of Rainbow Taxi's revenge service to solve the case that ended unfinished 15 years ago.
To get Lim Dong-hyun to talk, Kim Do-gi starts to shake his mental state by making it seem like the deceased Park Min-ho has returned. Kim Do-gi leaves notes and missed calls saying, "Are you sure you did it all?" and exposes CCTV footage of a man resembling Park Min-ho from 15 years ago at Lim Dong-hyun's car and gym, provoking him. The appearance of Park Min-ho, whom he thought was dead, completely breaks Lim Dong-hyun's mental state, prompting him to urgently seek someone out.
At the end of the episode, Lim Dong-hyun visits his friend Jo Sung-wook (played by Shin Joo-hwan), who works as the volleyball coach at Jin Kwang University. Lim Dong-hyun confronts Jo Sung-wook, asking, "Is Park Min-ho really dead? Did you bury him for sure?" Jo Sung-wook reveals his hidden malicious nature, threatening, "Are you out of money? Should I bury you too?" Kim Do-gi observes their conversation, confirming that Jo Sung-wook was the accomplice in the murder without a body case and that Park Min-ho is indeed dead.
