New Youth Drama 'Will You Be My Manager?' Premieres on Wavve and Rakuten Viki
'Will You Be My Manager?' (written by Kim Seo-ha, directed by Kim Young-sam, planned by MegaMeta, produced by MegaMeta, Apollo Pictures, and Turtles) is a youth-filled coming-of-age drama. It follows Hirose Hana, a Japanese exchange student with a secret, who transfers to the manager department of Korea's unique Seiki Arts School and becomes entangled with four handsome actors. The drama is anticipated as the 2025 version of the hit series 'Boys Over Flowers.'
The drama is overseen by Na Byung-jun, CEO of MegaMeta, known for producing numerous artists and content, including the first actor group Surprise and idol group Astro. Apollo Pictures, known for creative and daring productions like 'Sign,' 'Mirror of the Witch,' and 'Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency,' adds to the production, heightening expectations.
The lead role of Hirose Hana is played by Nonomura Kanon, a model for Japan's popular magazine 'non-no.' Recently active as an actress, Nonomura Kanon is set to showcase her boundless charm with a lively and surprising performance as the secretive Japanese exchange student.
Emerging multi-talented actor group Asteon members Ahn Jun-won, Yang Jun-beom, Nam Min-soo, and newcomer Yoon Do-jin star as the four handsome actors. Known for their skills in acting, singing, and dancing, the four are expected to display their unique charms.
Actor Ahn Jun-won plays Goo Eun-ho, a confident and cold-hearted top student in the acting department, who has appeared in blockbuster films. Yoon Do-jin portrays Cheon Si-woo, Goo Eun-ho's best friend with a contrasting warm personality. Yang Jun-beom takes on the role of Kim Ba-reun, Hirose Hana's cousin with a charmingly playful demeanor, while Nam Min-soo transforms into a free-spirited character who springs into action when dopamine hits.
The production team stated, "'Will You Be My Manager?' is a heart-fluttering youth romance drama that shines with the relentless charm offensive of Korean heartthrobs. The chemistry between Nonomura Kanon, Asteon, and Yoon Do-jin, along with a fresh romance that transcends borders and a youth narrative that transcends generations, will captivate audiences this winter."
Consisting of six episodes, each 25 minutes long, 'Will You Be My Manager?' will premiere on December 12th at 1 PM on the OTT platform Wavve and the global OTT channel Rakuten Viki.
