Actor Moo Jin-sung Shares Behind-the-Scenes Story of 'Tae-pung Company' and His Memorable On-Set Experience

Actor Moo Jin-sung revealed a behind-the-scenes story from the filming of 'Tae-pung Company,' sharing that he 'collapsed after being slapped by Kim Min-ha.'

On the 4th, Moo Jin-sung, who starred in the tvN drama 'Tae-pung Company,' was interviewed at the Ten Asia office in Jungnim-dong, Seoul.

'Tae-pung Company,' which concluded on September 30th, is a drama set during the 1997 IMF financial crisis. It follows the growth of Kang Tae-pung (played by Lee Jun-ho), a novice businessman who becomes the president of a struggling trading company. Moo Jin-sung played the role of Byun Hyun-joon, a villain envious of Kang Tae-pung.

The final episode of 'Tae-pung Company' achieved a nationwide household rating of 10.3%, peaking at 11.4% according to Nielsen Korea. Moo Jin-sung expressed his gratitude, saying, "It was a 16-episode series, so viewers watched for a long time. I'm thankful for the love until the end." He added, "I played a villain, so I received a lot of negative comments, but it means my acting was impactful, which makes me happy."

He also shared a filming anecdote, mentioning a scene with actress Kim Min-ha. "There's a scene where Hyun-joon gets slapped by Oh Mi-sun (played by Kim Min-ha). I was so immersed in the role that after being slapped, I suddenly felt a crick in my neck and collapsed," he recalled. He continued with a laugh, "But on set, they thought my collapse was part of the acting, so the cameras kept rolling."

Finally, Moo Jin-sung encouraged viewers who haven't watched 'Tae-pung Company' yet, saying, "The drama offers a fresh and unique take with its 90s IMF era backdrop. Focusing on that aspect will make it more enjoyable. There are also twists hidden throughout the series, so please watch it."
